The Blind Spot

The thing motorcycling forgot to mention.

One thing at a time that nobody tells you, usually because nobody asked. We dig in, ask the people who should know, and tell you what we found, and who didn't answer.

A frame from the footage: Mel on the bike as it goes over in a car park, the airbag vest still flat

Still digging · 28 October 2026

I'm 5ft. Who was my airbag tested on?

I fell over in a car park wearing a £540 airbag vest and it didn't inflate. I thought I'd done my research before buying it. Turns out there were a few questions I hadn't thought to ask.
